Our Last Day In Mido!

Our day started off with breakfast, as always. Then we hiked up to go to a butterfly pavilion. Well, once again, most people wouldn't call it a hike, but I do, so you'll have to get used to my lack of good sense. The butterflies were so cool! Tara held nine! But, because I have more awesomeness, I got ten. I'm awesome. Ok, I may admit, that I may not of held quite ten. Just a little bit less, more like zero. Hey, that's still pretty good!
Well, it's technically not my fault! Yes, I agree that butterflies are very beautiful. But no, I am not a fan of their scary gross tentacle things. No, I'm not scared of them, why would you think that?! Well, it has a little freaky, but I'm not a wimp. Ok, I give up, I'm a wimp! Just because I was literally screaming like a little child when they came near, doesn't mean that you have the right to judge me. Nope! But it is true that Tara got to hold nine. If you ask me, I think she's a show off.
At the butterfly place, (it's too hard to pronounce the whole word), we learned about the stages on a butterfly life. But, please, I learned that stuff in kindergarten. If you put some banana on your finger, you can pick up a whole bunch of them. Oh, wait, I remember! I remember that I picked up one butterfly, the orange one! I'm not a wimp after all!!! Oh. Wait. I remember. Tara pulled my hand next to that thing really hard. I tried to stop her but she held on too tight! Oh. Cheer up Riley! You held one though, that's all that counts! I think.
Next we went river rafting. It was awesome! There were seven tubes all connected. We had to sit in the places where it was connected, instead of the holes. If you sat in the holes, you might hit your butt on a rock, ouch! At first we weren't going to do it, because it was dangerous. But then we just decided to. The river was the fastest one I've ever been to! Though I haven't been on very many. There's so many rocks that we bump into. Every once a while there would be a mini waterfall we would scream down. I totally agree it was dangerous, but it was really fun!
After that we went home to take a shower and change. Then we went to go see the birds on a hike. Unfortunately, it was raining, so the bird hike was closed. Instead we went to the orchid garden. We saw a bunch of flowers, and learned their history, and names. It was cool, but not really my kind of thing. We went to dinner afterwards. We got two pizzas, a bowl of noodles, bottled water, Dad and Mom got beer, and I got two coconut waters. Two?! Yup, that's only because Tara didn't like hers, but I did. Then we went back to where we did our chocolate touring and got a brownie. Yum! And, as always, we snuggled into bed. One of my favorite parts of the day. ;)

Sorry I don't have any pictures, it's hard to publish it here if you do. I hate WiFi......

More stuff.......

We woke up at 7:30am and ate breakfast. Breakfast was up in a cool wooden fort kinda thing. We had bread, a smoothie, roasted banana, fruit, hot chocolate, and tea. As you can tell, Mido is known to have many fruits. After breakfast, we took a taxi to a cascade, where we rode across the cloud forest to the other side. Then we took a very green, quiet trail to a waterfall. I have to say, it was very interesting. I felt like I was a person from the movies who got stranded in the wilderness. Or like in other movies, where any moment, a giant dinosaur will lunch at you from behind the bushes. Well, it was pretty fun.
Who am I kidding, I hated that hike. I confess! Honestly, I could feel pain coming from everywhere in the body. It was awful. Mom and Dad made us do the whole thing, it took an hour. It also doesn't help when you're sister is acting like a total snob. Ok, just because I accidentally sprayed her with the bug spray, doesn't mean she has to eat me alive! You should all know by now that when I say "accidentally," it actually means "on purpose."
Don't tell Mom I said that! If you do, you are in deep, deep, guacamole. Dun, dun, dun!
Anyway, after all that torture, we finally got back up. Guess what, Mom made us hike the other direction for another hike! Luckily it was only fifteen minutes down. Unfortunately, it was all downhill on the way down, so guess what it was on the way back. Up!!! I felt like I was dying of starvation. True, we did have crackers, but those taste like moldy doughnuts. When we got to the top, we rode back.
Yay, to the fun part now! Zip lining. We started off with an easy one, not so high, and not so fast. It was a little scary, but once you got the hang of it, it's pretty cold! I'm not sure what got ahold of me, but I decided to do butterfly! It was actually a stupid idea for someone who's afraid of heights, I didn't regret it though. Butterfly is where you hang upside down, with you're arms and legs spread out wide. You have to go with a guide, of course, just for safety precautions. It was scary awesome! Dad and I were the only ones who did it.
Number 8 and 10 and the fastest. 10 being the most fast. Since I'm younger, I had to go with a guide on those too. Once we were done, we walked back home. We ate dinner near the western side of town, at El Chef. I got a hamburger with fries, Mom got rice, Dad got chiken with vegetables, and Tara got the same thing as me. We played out near the river before going inside to shower. Boy, I'd have to say that it was a freezing shower! But we weren't as cold when we snuggled in our beds for sleep. For some odd reason, I can't post the picture of me doing the butterfly. I you would like to see it, Dad said he'd post it on his. Thanks! Hope he remembers!
